More than 38.8 million visitors travelled to Ho Chi Minh City in the first seven months of 2026, pushing tourism revenue to 72% of its full-year target. Steady growth in both domestic and international arrivals helped Ho Chi Minh City generate nearly VND237.5 trillion (US$9.1 billion) in tourism revenue during the first seven months of 2026, completing 72% of its full-year target.

Korean tourists to Vietnam’s Quy Nhon surge 12-fold as travel spreads to small cities
South Korean travellers are increasingly venturing beyond Vietnam’s traditional hotspots, with the coastal city of Quy Nhon emerging as one of the country’s fastest-growing destinations. According to analysis by Korean travel platform Yeogi Eottae, check-ins by South Korean visitors to Quy Nhon increased twelvefold compared with the previous year, reflecting a growing appetite for quieter, less-crowded destinations offering beaches, local culture and authentic experiences.

Sri Lanka, Vietnam to introduce joint tourism package following launch of direct flights Sri Lanka and Vietnam are planning to introduce a joint tourism package aimed at strengthening tourism cooperation between the two countries, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Foreign Employment and Tourism announced. Issuing a statement on the launch of direct flights between Colombo and Ho Chi Minh City, the Ministry said the proposed package will focus on promoting religious tourism by building on the longstanding religious and cultural ties between the two nations. It will also seek to enhance cultural, wellness, and adventure tourism.
