Global searches for Vietnam tourism on the rise  

Vietnam’s tourism industry is witnessing strong international interest, with global searches for travel to the country in the first half of February rising by 30-45% against the previous month, according to data from Google released by the Vietnam National Authority of Tourism. Between late November 2024 and January 2025, searches for Vietnam’s accommodation options increased by 15-30% year on year. Among the countries showing the most interest in Vietnam, the USA topped the list, followed by Australia and India.

Vietnam welcomed 45,000 international cruise passengers in January, marking a robust comeback for the sector. Experts see vast opportunities for the country to establish itself as a leading global cruise hub.

Vietnam’s capital has been honoured in three prestigious categories in Tripadvisor’s annual travel awards, solidifying its status as a top global destination. This year, Hanoi has been honoured in three major categories of the annual Travelers’ Choice Awards, an international travel recognition initiated by the world’s largest travel platform, Tripadvisor. The Travelers’ Choice Awards celebrate top destinations, accommodation and restaurants that offer outstanding service. Winners are determined based on millions of reviews and ratings from global travellers on Tripadvisor.

American and Australian tourism boom expected in Vietnam  

A recent report reveals that the United States leads the top 10 countries with the highest interest in Vietnam tourism in early 2025, with Australia and India following closely behind. According to the Vietnam National Administration of Tourism, which sourced its data from Google’s Destination Insights, other nations showing significant interest include Japan, South Korea, Singapore, the United Kingdom, Canada, Germany and Malaysia. Searches for accommodation in Vietnam experienced a notable increase, rising by 15-30% between late November 2024 and January 2025 compared to the same timeframe in 2023. The growing trend continued into early February, with search volumes surging by 30-45%.
