Vietnam tourism set to boom with ‘Six Countries, One Destination’ plan
A shared visa zone for the Southeast Asia region, similar to Europe’s Schengen visa mechanism, could be a game-changer for Vietnam’s tourism sector. The proposed “Six Countries, One Destination” initiative aims to facilitate seamless travel across six neighbouring countries, thus boosting regional tourism. On the sidelines of the 44th and 45th ASEAN Summits in Laos on 9 October, Vietnamese Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and his Thai counterpart Paetongtarn Shinawatra agreed to pilot the tourism initiative involving Thailand, Malaysia, Singapore, Vietnam, Laos, and Cambodia.

Culture tourism village showcases ethnic peoples’ traditional activities
The Vietnamese Ethnic Culture and Tourism Village, located in Hanoi’s outlying Son Tay township, will host a vibrant series of activities from 1–28 February to celebrate the Lunar New Year (Year of the Snake) Festival. The event, titled “Colours of Spring Across the Homeland,” will bring together more than 100 participants representing 16 ethnic groups from across Vietnam. The highlights of the event will be interactive celebrations where ethnic people join together to enjoy the Lunar New Year through songs, traditional games and other cultural festivities.

Vietnam golf coast charts 2025 growth with world-class tournaments and tourism innovation
One of the year’s highlights is the return of the Asia Golf Tourism Convention (AGTC) to Danang from 2- 4 April 2025. This prestigious event will see all three VGC clubs—Laguna Golf Lang Co, Montgomerie Links and Ba Na Hills Golf Club—hosting pre- and post-event activities for over 50 international representatives, further solidifying Vietnam’s place on the global golf map.

Cultural festivals take centre stage in Tet tourism push
Vietnam is set to welcome a surge of domestic and international tourists during the 2025 Tet (Lunar New Year) holiday as destinations nationwide are preparing to showcase their distinctive cultural festivals and traditional celebrations. According to the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, the country hosts nearly 8,000 festivals annually, demonstrating the rich cultural identities and historical heritage of its ethnic groups.
