A message from Panorama Destination Indonesia
Hello from Indonesia!
February brought challenging weather across parts of Sumatra, Java and Bali, with frequent rainfall affecting travel conditions. Despite this, our clients continued to enjoy their journeys, supported by flexible planning and the dedication of our teams on the ground. Following the floods in late 2025 and early 2026, our Medan office conducted a thorough road survey from Medan to Padang to ensure the safety and reliability of routes used in our Sumatra itineraries. This proactive assessment allows us to maintain high standards of safety while continuing to showcase the island’s remarkable landscapes and cultures.
March is a vibrant and culturally significant month across Indonesia. Cap Go Meh celebrations on 3 March will bring lively lion and dragon parades to cities such as Pontianak, Singkawang and Bogor, marking the close of Lunar New Year festivities. On 19 March, Bali observes Nyepi, the Day of Silence, when the island pauses for reflection and renewal — a rare and memorable experience for visitors. Shortly after, Muslims across the archipelago celebrate Eid al-Fitr on 21–22 March, a joyful period of family gatherings, hospitality and festive traditions. Travellers should note increased domestic movement during this time, which may affect transport schedules.
This month, our destination focus includes Sumatra, Java, Bali, Lombok and Labuan Bajo, reflecting continued demand for diverse cultural and nature-based experiences. Panorama Destination will also be present at ITB Berlin 2026 (Hall 26, Stand 110), where we look forward to connecting with partners and showcasing new offerings, including our upcoming Wake Up in Bali programme, with July–December 2026 pricing to be released in early March. As we move through Ramadan, our team will observe a company break fast gathering on 13 March, reinforcing the spirit of togetherness that defines this season.
Heading into March, we remain committed to ensuring safe, comfortable and meaningful journeys, and we warmly invite our partners and guests to embrace Indonesia’s rich cultural moments as part of their travel experience.
Warm regards,

Ricky Setiawanto,
Director of Business Development, Panorama Destination Indonesia
