Country Manager Message – Vietnam

Hello from Vietnam!

October marks the beginning of Vietnam’s high season, bringing cooler autumn weather and an excellent time to explore the north. In Hanoi, travellers can wander through historic neighbourhoods, stop for street food and coffee and enjoy a busy cultural calendar. Beyond the capital, Ninh Binh, Ha Long Bay and Sapa combine dramatic landscapes with opportunities to slow down and explore, while further north, Ha Giang’s mountain roads and Dong Van Karst Plateau become even more striking as the buckwheat flowers begin to bloom.

Hanoi has plenty happening this month. West Lake hosts the Hanoi Open Dragon Boat and SUP Racing on 3–4 October, followed by Hanoi Liberation Day on 10 October. From 16–18 October, the Hanoi Autumn Festival celebrates the season through local food, traditional crafts, music and cultural experiences at Thong Nhat Park and other locations around the city. Vietnamese Women’s Day follows on 20 October, with celebrations taking place nationwide.

For travellers looking beyond the better-known destinations, this month we are highlighting Pu Luong, where rice terraces, forested hills and traditional villages create an idyllic setting for walking and cultural discovery. October often coincides with the rice harvest, bringing golden colour to the terraces and plenty of activity to the fields. Our northern Vietnam programmes also provide opportunities to discover nearby Mai Chau, combining rural landscapes with walking, cycling and encounters with White Thai communities.

Panorama Destination Vietnam will be attending ITB Asia in Singapore from 21–23 October, where we look forward to reconnecting with existing partners, making new connections and sharing our latest Vietnam and Indochina itineraries.

As another high season begins, we look forward to helping travellers discover Vietnam through more than only its most famous landmarks. From mountain villages and historic neighbourhoods to imperial heritage and life along the Mekong, it is often the conversations, shared meals and everyday encounters that become the most memorable parts of a journey.

If our paths cross at ITB Asia this October, we look forward to catching up, exchanging travel stories and perhaps finding the beginnings of the next journey together.

Warmest wishes,

Nguyen Thi Minh Trang
