Hanoi Unveils New Range of Green Tourism Products

Hanoi is taking a decisive step towards more sustainable travel with the launch of a new suite of green tourism products under the theme “Green Travel Journey.” Designed to balance visitor experiences with environmental and cultural responsibility, the initiative introduces a range of new offerings that highlight nature conservation, heritage preservation and community engagement.

At the core of this development are newly curated routes and destinations that extend beyond the capital’s historic centre into its surrounding areas. These include community-based tourism sites, craft villages and suburban landscapes, where travellers can engage directly with local traditions and livelihoods. Experiences such as bamboo dance performances, traditional handicraft demonstrations and village-based activities aim to create more immersive, culturally grounded journeys while supporting local economies.

The initiative also reflects a broader shift in Hanoi’s tourism strategy, encouraging stronger collaboration between travel businesses and digital platforms to promote sustainable products and improve accessibility. By linking urban attractions with nearby rural and cultural destinations, the city is working to diversify its tourism portfolio, reduce pressure on central hotspots, and offer more balanced itineraries for both domestic and international visitors.

As demand grows for responsible and experience-led travel, Hanoi’s green tourism push positions the capital as a forward-looking destination—one that integrates heritage, community and environmental stewardship into the visitor experience. For travellers, it opens up a deeper, more meaningful way to explore the city and its surroundings, where each journey contributes to the preservation of Vietnam’s cultural and natural assets.
