Message from our Director

Hello from Vietnam!

September is a wonderful time to experience Vietnam, as the first signs of autumn arrive in the north and a busy calendar of cultural celebrations gets underway across the country. We began the month with Vietnam National Day on 2 September, marking the 81st anniversary of the declaration of independence in 1945. Later this month, Tet Trung Thu – the Mid-Autumn Festival – falls on 25 September, bringing colourful lanterns, lion dances, mooncakes and family celebrations to communities nationwide. In Hue, September also brings the ‘Hue – Culinary Capital 2026’ Festival, celebrating the distinctive food traditions of Vietnam’s former imperial capital.

Autumn lends Hanoi a special atmosphere, with seasonal com (young green rice), mooncakes and colourful Mid-Autumn displays appearing throughout the Old Quarter. In Sapa, meanwhile, the rice harvest transforms the terraced valleys into shades of gold. Walking through Muong Hoa Valley and its surrounding villages at this time of year offers travellers a beautiful combination of mountain scenery, local culture and seasonal agricultural traditions.

We are also encouraging travellers to venture further off the familiar tourist trail. Vietnam’s Central Highlands feature in our new Trails of Vietnam journey, introducing visitors to Bahnar village life, Kon Tum’s distinctive wooden church, Bien Ho Lake, coffee-growing landscapes and the impressive Dray Nur Waterfall. It is a region where culture and history are every bit as rewarding as the scenery, offering another dimension to a journey through Vietnam.

September is also taking Panorama Destination Vietnam to Europe. From 15–17 September, we will be attending IFTM Top Resa in Paris, where we look forward to catching up with existing partners, making new connections and sharing our latest Vietnam and Indochina itineraries. Back home, on-the-job training and knowledge sharing continue to be an important part of our daily work, helping our team maintain and develop the service standards our partners expect.

Wherever your clients’ interests take them, our aim is to connect travellers with the places and experiences that speak to them, while leaving room for unexpected discoveries along the way. This September, that could mean lantern-filled streets in Hanoi, golden rice terraces around Sapa, a family kitchen in Hue, the coffee-growing hills of the Central Highlands or a journey through the Mekong Delta. We look forward to sharing these experiences with your clients – and to seeing many of you in Paris.

Warmest wishes,

Nguyen Thi Minh Trang
