Malaysia Kicks Off VM2026 Campaign With Events Nationwide

Malaysia has officially launched its Visit Malaysia 2026 (VM2026) campaign with a series of nationwide events designed to showcase the country’s cultural diversity, natural attractions and readiness to welcome international travellers.

The campaign rollout features celebrations across multiple states, highlighting Malaysia’s unique blend of heritage, cuisine, festivals and eco-adventures as the nation prepares for increased visitor arrivals in the lead-up to 2026.

The launch events brought together federal and state tourism bodies, industry stakeholders and local communities, signalling a coordinated effort to strengthen Malaysia’s global tourism positioning.

Cultural performances, food showcases and destination promotions were staged in key cities, reflecting the campaign’s focus on immersive experiences that connect visitors with Malaysia’s multicultural identity.

Tourism authorities have emphasised that VM2026 will prioritise sustainable tourism, improved infrastructure, and enhanced visitor services to ensure long-term benefits for local communities and the environment.

Central to the campaign is the goal of dispersing tourism beyond traditional hotspots such as Kuala Lumpur, Penang and Langkawi. By promoting lesser-known destinations, including rural villages, nature reserves and heritage towns, Malaysia aims to encourage longer stays and more balanced regional development.

This approach aligns with broader efforts to support community-based tourism, protect natural assets, and diversify tourism products to meet evolving traveller preferences.

As momentum builds throughout 2026, Malaysia is positioning itself as a destination that offers both iconic experiences and hidden gems. With coordinated marketing efforts, infrastructure upgrades and a renewed emphasis on sustainability, the VM2026 campaign signals the country’s ambition to welcome the world while preserving the cultural and natural treasures that make Malaysia a uniquely compelling tourism destination.
