The Malaysian Association of Tour and Travel Agents (MATTA) Penang Chapter has officially announced the return of the MATTA Fair Penang, scheduled to take place at the Setia Spice Arena on 24–25 May 2025, from 10:00 AM to 9:00 PM.
As the second-largest MATTA Fair after the flagship event in Kuala Lumpur, this edition promises an even bigger and more exciting experience for visitors, featuring over 300 booths showcasing the best travel and tourism offerings.
“Penang’s position as a key gateway and tourism powerhouse in Malaysia naturally makes the MATTA Fair Penang the second-largest event in the country, following the national MATTA Fair at MITEC,” said MATTA Fair Penang 2025 Organising Chairman Datuk Hamzah recently. “With its vibrant tourism offerings and strong economic dynamism, Penang is an ideal destination for domestic and international travellers – the MATTA Fair Penang plays a significant role in driving forward tourism in the region and supporting Malaysia’s ongoing tourism development.”
Building upon the success of last year’s event, which attracted more than 85,860 visitors and generated RM78 million in total sales, the MATTA Fair Penang 2025 will see a significant expansion. An additional 40 booths have been added this year, bringing the total to 300, with the potential to increase further to 330 should demand require it.
A significant highlight of this year’s exhibition is the debut of the Domestic Zone, offering guests the exceptional chance to browse domestic travel packages before accessing the international zone. This initiative supports MATTA’s commitment to promoting domestic travel linked to the Visit Malaysia 2026 celebrations.
Visitors can look forward to a wide range of travel packages, including both domestic and international vacations. Additionally, there are more than 60 prizes worth over RM200,000 to be won, including flight tickets by renowned airlines, cruises, and hotel stays. The grand prize is a Business Class return ticket to Tokyo, Japan, courtesy of Malaysia Airlines, the official airline for the upcoming MATTA Fair Penang.
